From:  Supporters of  "Mourning Mothers" of Iran (Mothers of Laleh Pak) / Los Angeles-Valley
To :  the special rapporteur on human rights situation in Iran, Dr. Ahmad Shaheed;
Dear Dr. Ahmad Shaheed,
We would like to thank you for  all your  efforts  in investigating the human rights violations in Iran. We are glad that once more, the highest international human rights organization is informing the public opinion about the widespread human rights abuses by the Islamic Republic regime of Iran.
After your appointment as the special rapporteur on human rights situation in Iran, a ray of hope filled the hearts of the Iranian mothers. The mothers and families of political and conciseness prisoners and all those killed, executed, kidnapped, injured and tortured during the Islamic Republic; from mass executions of the 80's to the victims of the July 26th, the chain killings and the victims of the mass protests of 2009, are all hoping that at last, after long delay, their voices will finally be heard by the world.
We ask you to please hear the voices of the mothers of Neda Agha Soltan, Sohrab Araabi, Ashkan Sohrabi, Masoud Hashem Zadeh, Mostafa Karim Beigi, Kianoush Asa, the wife of Ali Hsan Pour  and tens and hundreds of other martyrs of the Green movement. We ask you to hear the voice of Akram Neghabi, the mother of  Saied Zinali  whose college student son was arrested without a presented charge. Not only she has not received any news on the whereabouts of his son for the past thirteen years, Mrs. Neghabi and her daughter were jailed for several months in response to their attempts of following up with the authorities. We ask you to hear the voice of Farzad Kamangar's Mother whose son, a Kurdish teacher, was executed along with many other political prisoners. We also  ask you not ignore the voice of the "Mothers of Khavaran"; the mothers who have lost their children in the 80's, as a result of individual or mass executions inside and outside the prisons, and after all these years  their families are still under pressure not to get together or hold any ceremonies for their lost beloved ones. Even holding the pictures of the killed children by their mothers in peaceful silent marches  have been faced with assaults, intimidation, interrogation and imprisonment of them and their other children.
Along these lines, The Mothers of Laleh Park, have been trying for the past four years to protest the human rights abuses in Iran and make the world hear the voice of the mourning and suffering mothers. During this time, a lot of them have been arrested multiple times, spent months in solitary cells in Evin prison and other temporary jails, been released only with bails, and are still waiting for their court hearings. A lot of them have been interrogated and intimidated, and some have had no other choice but to leave the country.
Now, the suffered but decidedly firm mothers are asking you to echo their cries to the world. We ask you to please do your best effort to make it possible to observe and investigate the conditions of the prisons in Iran closely,  speak to the political prisoners while insuring their security and safety and meet with the family members of those disappeared or killed by the regime and publish their testimonies.
We hope to see a day that all mothers witness their children grow up and live in a peaceful, just and equal societies.
