Sussan Tahmasebi
Sussan Tahmasebi is an Iranian American activist who raises broad awareness about how discriminatory laws violate the human rights of women in Iran. She conducts training in leadership and peace-building and helped found the award-winning One Million Signatures Campaign, which rallies support for an end to Iran’s gender-biased laws. Like thousands of other activists in Iran, Sussan was harassed by security forces and was banned from traveling abroad because of her work. As a prominent Iranian woman agent of change, Sussan will share with CSUN students some of her observations and analyses on how women’s rights activists in Iran are using the new communication technology--the Intent--to bring about socio-cultural transformation despite a repressive state.
